Modalities of Massage
Swedish Massage is a manual therapy that emphasizes long strokes, kneading and friction motions to encourage proper circulation. The technique involves rubbing muscles together in the same direction as the flow of blood to the heart. Swedish massage works to improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, stretch tight ligaments and reduce emotional stress.
Lymphatic Drainage Technique is a light pressure technique that promotes clearing out toxins and waste that are in our lymphatic system. This is the way our body detoxes to help clear out anything that is not promoting health and nutrients in our body. It is great for people with allergies, food sensitivities, bloating, brain fog, chronic lethargy, constipation, depression, swollen lymph nodes, excess weight, weaker immune system diseases, sinus infections, skin problems, lymphedema, any surgeries that have created your lymphatic system to be damaged or rerouted in the body.
CranialSacral Therapy (CST) is sometimes also referred to as CranioSacral therapy. It’s a type of bodywork that relieves compression in the bones of the head, sacrum (a triangular bone in the lower back), and spinal column. CST is noninvasive. It uses gentle pressure on the head, neck, and back to relieve the stress and pain caused by compression. It can, as a result, help to treat a number of conditions. It’s thought that through the gentle manipulation of the bones in the skull, spine, and pelvis, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system can be normalized. This removes “blockages” from the normal flow, which enhances the body’s ability to heal.
Integrative Bodywork is whole-person healing. Physical, mental, emotional and some could say, spiritual. Using various methods, with the focus on energetic balancing, the therapist stimulates the body’s innate desire to be balanced. Essentially, deep root causes are addressed, the therapist releases muscle tension embedded in the muscles caused by historic and present emotional pain, stress and recovery from minor physical injuries and surgery, as well as psychic pain.
Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free-flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance. A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness.
